“Synergies” —” two or more things working together in order to create something that is bigger or greater than the sum of their individual efforts” defines the Working Artists Forum. Predominately from the Eastern Shore, WAF members represent all fine art mediums of original art from watercolor, acrylic, and oil paintings to printmaking and mixed media. One important goal for these artists is to do pro bono work in the community. Visit WAF at

“Transcendent Musings” features artists Christian McCarroll and Colin Lacey of the Open Eye Gallery at Arundel Lodge in Edgewater. Christian’s artworks are expressionistic and emotional, often featuring faces, figures, and nature. His paintings depict human tragedy and the tragic aspects of human existence. Colin style is expressionistic abstract, full of figures and animals and his paintings tell stories. Colin describes art as an expression that is “engraved, self-captivating and a new experience every time.” To learn more about the Open Eye Gallery visit their website at

The Galleries at Quiet Waters Park are in the Visitor Center which is open from 9 – 4 Weekdays (closed Tuesday) and 10 – 4 on Weekends. Entrance fee to the park is $6 per vehicle (waived for Sunday reception).
