Maryland Pastel Society:
The Maryland Pastel Society’s exhibit, “Pastel Viewpoints,” opens at The Willow Gallery at Quiet Waters Park on July 8th and will continue through August 23rd. This juried exhibition will consist of over 60 original soft pastel paintings. Artists’ Reception and Awards will take place Sunday, July 12, 2-4 p. m. in the Willow Gallery. Most paintings are available for purchase.
Founded in 1977, the Maryland Pastel Society is a non=profit organization with approximately 200 members, devoted to the promotion and development of professional, original works of art in the medium of soft pastel. ‘scapes, a new exhibit of landscapes, cityscapes and nightscapes and escapes by Steve Ember comes to Quiet Waters Park on July 8th through August 23rd. The reception will be on July 12, 2-4 in the Garden Gallery.
‘scapes encompasses photographic views from many parts of the world including the Chesapeake Bay region. His work has been in numerous juried exhibits in the Annapolis, D. C. and Baltimore area. He is retired from the Voice of America and does voice over and audio book narration from his home studio. He has been a serious photographer since his late teens and has never lost his love and respect for the medium of film which he continues to shoot alongside of digital. Steve grew up in Baltimore, lived most of his life in Northern Virginia, and isn active artist member of the Maryland Federation of Art.
