Nature Center Campaign Kicks Off

The Friends of Quiet Waters Park are pleased to announce our plans for establishing a small Nature Center in the Visitor’s Center to be located above the art galleries. 2016 marks the beginning of our Nature Center Campaign! The intent of the Quiet Waters Park Nature Center is to provide environmental education specific to the park, encourage visitors to spend time outdoors, and facilitate informed stewardship of our resources. We have a professional exhibit design complete but we’ll need to raise additional funds to construct this new visitor experience. When opened, the center will support environmental education opportunities for all ages while maintaining the first class arts exhibitions held at the Park. Having received the final plans, we are ready to start the Nature Center Campaign with a goal of raising $30,000 to build out the nature display. This fundraising plan will likely include events, sponsorship and grant opportunities. Our first planned event is the “Run for Nature” Earth Day 5k to be held on the Quiet Waters Park trails Saturday, April 16. We will continue to update you about this exciting new initiative as we begin our capital campaign to secure the resources necessary for constructing this center.NatureCenter
