Invasive Cleanup Events in the Park
What kind of weather is this to be outside removing invasive plants from Quiet Waters Park? It’s perfect weather!! There are less ticks and poison ivy to contend with and some of the worst invaders are easy to spot.
We will continue to hold two monthly events, one every second Wednesday, and one each month on either a Saturday or Sunday. Our December events are scheduled as follows:
When: Wednesday, December 10th, 8:30 to 10:00.
Where: Meet at the Sycamore Pavilion
What: We will be removing privet, English Ivy, honeysuckle and wineberry along the trail between the Sycamore and Sassafras Pavilions.
No sign up, just show up!1
When: Saturday, December 13th, 9:30 to 11:30.
Where: Meet at the Blue Heron Parking lot at the top of the compost trail.
What: We will be removing privet, English Ivy, honeysuckle and wineberry around the perimeter of the parking lot and continuing down the trail to the compost demonstration area.
Training, extra tools and gloves will be provided for all invasive removal events. Bring water and bug spray and help rid our amazing park of invasives while enjoying the beautiful winter views of the Park!
