Favorite Time of the Year:

Whenever I’m there! Winter in the park is great following (or during) a nice snowfall that coats the trees with a blanket of fresh snow; spring is fantastic with the first emergence of spring peepers, new growth, and flowering of trees and shrubs; summer in the park provides a refuge from the summer heat and the chance to enjoy nice refreshing breezes off the South River; and a crisp fall day when the leaves are in their glory revitalizes the mind and spirit.

Favorite Quiet Waters Park Event:

The fall” Art @ the Park” event when I can see the works of so many people who have great creative talents.

TinaMarineTina Marine, Board Member

Strengths:

Creative Energy – I do believe that being creative is indeed a gift of which I am blessed to have. Having a creative mind means that there is no problem that can’t be resolved…as there are solutions to most everything in life. I love the challenge of approaching something with a different outlook – coming up with new, creative ideas – and, then putting it into action. Many times, I feel I overflow with ideas – especially if I am among other creative people. There is a good feeling of personal success when you are able to work your ideas through other people….and, achieve common goals set by the group.

Team player- There are people who operate singularly…….and, then there are people like me who like to work with other like-minded people toward common goals and ideas. I enjoy people – and, I like nothing better than working with a team. There is no question that great minds put together can achieve a synergy that far outweighs a singular individual working towards the same goal. I am enthusiastic, have an open mind, and am very dependable. I believe all those qualities will be an asset to the Board of the Friends.

Passionate- I am very passionate about my life – the work I do – my family, the people I know – and the time I devote to things are especially dear to me. We are all given the same 24 hours each day. As I have become older – and, hopefully, wiser – I see how precious my time is. Therefore, I do not want to recklessly spend it on things that have no meaning to me.

The Park has special meaning to me….and, ever since its inception – it has been a part of my life. Whenever I can – or whenever I feel overloaded – it only takes a few hours – to sit by the pool and watch the water fountains…or to sit and watch the young ice skaters do what I used to do…or just sit quietly by the trees and hear the sounds of nature – to know that all is going to be okay in my world.

Favorite Time of the Year:

My favorite time of year at the Park is in the fall. The explosion of color in the trees takes my breath away. The weather is perfect after the heat of summer. So, on one of the those days when there is just that first crispness in the air – I pack a picnic lunch for a friend….and, we sit on the grass by the pond near the ice rink – and enjoy the view around us.

Favorite Quiet Waters Park Event:

My favorite event at the Park is the summer concerts. My parents always took us to the Watergate concerts over in Washington, D.C., so I love nothing better than to sit outside and listen to music…..surrounded with friends…..in the setting of our Park. It is an enjoyable, magical evening!!
