Celebrate Earth Day at Quiet Waters Park

Join the Friends of Quiet Waters Park for guided walks and learn about what you can do to help the environment from a range of exhibitors.

Featured events with experienced leaders:

Bird Walk @ 9:00am. Spot birds, including Spring migrants, while walking through the forests, shoreline and meadows. Bring binoculars if you can. Registration Required

Invasive Species Pull @ 10:00am. Join others in removing invasive vines in the park. Bring tools & gloves if you have them; meet at Blue Heron lot.

Woodland Walk @ 11:00am. Walk paved trails through the forest, learning about native trees and their role in the Eastern Deciduous Forest System. Registration Required

Shinrin-Yoku-the Art of Forest Bathing @ 1:00pm. Engage in a peaceful slow walk to engage the senses while immersed in the natural environment. Registration Required

Self-Guided Storybook Walk @All day. Stroll leisurely with children, following pages of a children’s book on signs by Eastport-Annapolis Neck Library.

Self-Guided Tour of New Interpretive Signs & Watershed Stewards Native Gardens. All day. Pick up a map from the Friends of Quiet Waters Park table in the formal garden and go exploring. Take our Nature Detective game along.

Variety of Exhibits in the Formal Garden:

  • Watch live raptors and weed-eating goats
  • Learn how butterflies and bees pollinate plants
  • Look through the magical new giant kaleidoscope sculpture
  • Join a rain barrel demonstration @11:00am and see why using native plants is important
  • Discover the benefits of a dark sky at night, safe lighting practices, & then participate in an easy citizen science project at home
  • Enjoy a cup of joe and snack from Bragg’s food truck
