Why become a Member…
The Friends of Quiet Waters Park (FQWP) is a not-for-profit membership organization, relying on member support and donations to enable preservation, programs, activities and amenities within the park.
All individual membership contributions and donations to the Friends are fully tax deductible.
What do the Friends do?
The Friends work in collaboration with the Quiet Waters Park Superintendent and Staff to sponsor Annual Events like the Summer Concert Series, Art@thePark, Earth Day, and the Fairy House Festival.
The Friends have several all-volunteer Committees responsible for on-going activities within the park:
-
- Art Gallery exhibits
- Dog park maintenance and support
- Invasive plant species removal
- Sculpture acquisition and new signage
- Environmental projects such as support for Pollinator Week and native planting projects
- Materials, equipment and training to support Park Staff
- Newsletters and Facebook page communications with the public
Did you know…
The Friends of Quiet Waters Park recently provided the Park with new equipment, including a pump for the Visitor Center fountain and a Gator utility vehicle.
Friends Volunteer Committees designed and donated new identification signs for the outdoor park sculptures and coordinated the donation of new sculptures. They donated and installed wood duck boxes and the chimney swift tower. With grant assistance from the Arts Council of Anne Arundel County they are currently designing and installing Wayside Signs along the paths that interpret the natural and historical elements in the park.
Membership contributions help make all this possible.
