Magic in the Formal Garden

Come see our large steel & brass “Atomic Kaleidoscope” in the Formal Garden between the Visitor Center and the Blue Heron building. The magic happens when you look through one of the three different level viewfinders while spinning the base. The basin is filled with plants, flowers and other natural elements and changed periodically by Matt Pruett, the Park’s horticulturalist. Robert Anderson, an artist in Wisconsin, created this sculpture. It is ADA accessible and one of the viewfinders works for children. Karen and Paul Green donated this interactive piece in memory of their parents and their passion for science, nature and culture. The images you will see are truly spellbinding!
