Anne Arundel County Recreation and Parks and the Friends of Quiet Waters Park announce that their annual arts festival, Art @ the Park 2025, will take place at Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis, MD October 11 and 12, 2025 from 10am-4 pm.
Join us to celebrate the 35th year of Art @ the Park. It is a great gathering of Music, Visual Arts, food trucks and activities for the younger crowd along with live performances and demonstrations. The festival is free, but the $6 per car entry fee into the park still applies.
PLEASE NOTE: this year, the event will be OUTDOOR ONLY. The Visitor Center and Blue Heron Center, where we normally host indoor vendors, will be under renovation. All vendors will be outside and will need 10’ x 10’ tents.
During the Spring, Summer and Fall, we offer demonstrations at the composting site where you can learn how to do home composting and get answers to your composting questions.
Parking is available in the Blue Heron Center lot. Click on the link below for more details
Join the Anne Arundel Bird Club on their monthly walk through Quiet Waters Park on paved paths through habitat that includes mature deciduous forest, wood edges, mowed fields, wetlands, and a native plant garden, along with sweeping views of the open waters of the South River and Harness Creek. Meet at the parking lot at the end of Quiet Waters Park Road past the dog park. Time is 8:00 – 10:30 am. For further information contact Jim Collatz at jcollatz@aol.com This event is a recurring event the 3rd Sunday of each month.
ABC bird walks will be following these procedures to insure safety for all of our members: Birders should carefully consider health risks before attending a field trip. Attendance is at your own risk.
1. Participants must pre-register and keep in touch with the group leader.
2. Trips are limited to the number of participants the trip leader is comfortable leading to ensure a positive experience for all.
3. Carpooling is up to the discretion of the driver.
4. Masking is optional, but this may change based on prevailing health guidelines and mandates.
5. Do not go ahead of leader while walking or in a caravan.
6. Speak quietly on a walk or move to the back of the group when talking. “Bird Listening” is as important as “Bird Watching”.
7. Do not play bird song or call recordings without leader approval.
Two exhibits will open in the Galleries at Quiet Waters Park on October15 and show through November16, 2025. In the Willow Gallery will be the Annapolis Arts Alliance whose show, “Art by the Bay,” is a celebration of color and creativity, capturing the beauty of the Chesapeake Bay region. Included will be coastal scenes, landscapes, wildlife, sunsets and color. There will be a variety of art forms; paintings in oil, acrylic, watercolor and mixed media, as well as three dimensional work in glass, pottery, fiber, metal and wood. This exhibit is also opened to county high school and college students. Annapolis Arts Alliance is a non-profit organization supporting local high school students with scholarships and community outreach programs.
The Garden Gallery will hold the works of Stacy Lund Levy in her “Watercolor Retrospective.” She shoots reference pictures everywhere she goes. She looks for interesting shapes and color combinations, light and shadow patterns and generally anything that will bring back fond memories of her experiences. “Watercolor Retrospective” is a series of watercolor paintings representing details from various events in her life.
The Opening Reception is October 26 from 1:30 to 3:30 in the Visitor Center building which houses the Galleries. Entrance to the park is $6 per vehicle; this fee is waived for the reception ONLY. The Galleries are opened from 9 – 4 on weekdays and 10 – 4 on weekends
