Thank You for Making Earth Day Shine!

Thank you to everyone who came out, volunteered, and made Earth Day incredible! We lucked out this year and had beautiful weather, which brought out a lot of families. The Art Committee stepped up with kite making and plant pot decorating, which were both big hits! Thank you to Lynn Goff and Ottilie Habercam for organizing all of that!
Terri McKenna, our amazing invasive species volunteer, had a large group to help her pull invasives around the Holly Pavilion. We had alumni from both the University of Maryland and St. Mary’s College come out to pull with us, as well as a handful of others. They pulled an impressive mound of invasive species.
Ranger Emily, from Lake Waterford, came for the second year to do a rain barrel workshop. This has proven to be a popular event with 25 people attending this year and getting to take home a rain barrel they made from used soap barrels from a local car wash. A green activity all around.
We appreciate all your support to make Earth Day a fun and successful event. We look forward to doing it again next year.
