Sculpture Media Interest

Media Interest

The Sculpture Committee is thrilled its activity has attracted national and local media interest to Quiet Waters Park.

National Media

The 2024 Fairy House Festival was so successful that an AARP editor sent a reporter to interview the Chair of the Sculpture Committee, who suggested a perfect representative of a Fairy House family might be that of one of our volunteers, Ed Cooper, whose great-niece was a charmer at the Festival.  Ed’s family was happy to lend support to the cause and the result is a lovely article about family generations working together to create art.  This support is a happy example of teamwork among the greater Quiet Waters Park community and we thank Ed and his family.

Local Media

Upon learning that the-then-upcoming Fairy House Festival might make a “good news” story in anxious times, the Capital Gazette sent a talented photographer to witness the opening event and published a beautiful photo essay to lead its Sunday edition the next day.

We hope anticipated additions to the Park’s outside art collection will generate more excitement.  Stay tuned!
