The first exhibit of 2024 of The Galleries at Quiet Waters Park features Janet Kumer Ewing, a native Annapolitan. This exhibit will hang in the Garden Gallery from January 10 through February 11, 2024. Janet grew up around artists within her family. After a career in highway safety with the federal government, she decided to pursue her life-long interest in painting. Her paintings in this exhibit reflect her love for sailing, particularly on the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. The views are from parks and neighborhoods in Annapolis including Quiet Waters Park, Amos Garrett Park, Bay Ridge, Eastport Yacht
Club, Murray Hill and St. Mary’s Church. Janet also loves the challenge of painting portraits and is a former board member of the Maryland Society of Portrait Painters.
The Galleries of Quiet Waters Park is in the Visitor Center. The hours are 9 – 4 weekdays and 10 – 4 on weekends. There will not be an opening reception for this exhibition.
