Volunteer Science Opportunity with Box Turtles

Ranger Pauline Champlin plans to start a box turtle survey in the park. Quiet Waters has a large population of box turtles, but there also is a high mortality rate–sometimes they are found crushed on roadways or even along the trails. The survey will run from April-October.

If you volunteer, you will receive training on how to safely handle any found box turtles and to send photographs and other data using a google form. If interested in being part of the Volunteer Science Team, email Pauline at rpcham23@aacounty.org.
